The Jewish High Holy Days begin on Monday, Sept. 22 and end on Wednesday, Oct. 1 this year. Rosh Hashana is the Jewish New Year and Yom Kippur is the day of Atonement. The week between those two days is a time for contemplation of one’s life. In our common US culture, we think about New Year’s as a time to make resolutions, and we think of Atonement as penance. Let’s learn about a different world view, a different way to think about one’s commitments. Let’s think about the commitments we’ve made, which one’s we want to keep, which one’s we choose to change.
