9 am – 12 noon: Day of community service at Second Congregational Church, Newcastle
With the Baha’i Faith and Lincoln Academy Interact Club, the service fraternity, Alpha Sigma Gamma, and the service sorority, Sigma Sigma Chi. Others are welcome to join in providing service by gathering in the Fellowship Hall at 9 am. For those requesting student help or assistance between 9 am-12 noon, please call ahead to the Second Congregational Church at 563-3379 to leave your request.
12 noon – 1 pm: Anti-Racism vigil at Veterans Memorial Park, Newcastle
Bring signs or pick them up at the back door of Second Congo Church.
2 pm: Special Matinee Screening of Green Book at Lincoln Theater, Damariscotta
First 16 Lincoln Academy students with ID get in free!
7 pm: Interfaith service at Second Congregational Church, Newcastle
Co-led by Rev. Erika Hewitt, of the Midcoast Unitarian Universalist Fellowship; Rev. Char Corbett, of Second Congregational Church of Newcastle, UCC; and participants in Rev. Erika’s PUAR anti-racism book group. The offering will be given to Maine-Wabanaki REACH. Childcare provided. Followed by a reception, light refreshments, and information fair, with materials and volunteers from local organizations.
A community choir led by Jane Wilmot will be performing. The choir is open to all who wish to add their voices. Music will be provided. There will be a rehearsal on Sunday, Jan. 20th at 2 pm at the Second Congregational Church. Questions can be directed to Jane at .
