Tom is a Mitra (Pali for friend) at the Nagaloka Buddhist center in Portland, which is part of the Triratna Buddhist Community. He will talk about applying Buddhist principles to everyday living. Tom may be familiar to some of us, having lived in Newcastle for many years, attended MUUF at Edgecomb, and as Executive Director of Mobius in Damariscotta. After the service, Tom will be available for an informal question and answer period in the auditorium. Share the Plate for August will be with CHIP, the Community Housing Improvement Project, an organization that helps area residents who do not have sufficient resources or the ability to make basic repairs to their homes.
