Mark has internalized lessons about Beloved Community spending summers at overnight camps from the age of 6 until 23. During those summers, Mark developed a love of the outdoors and a deeply felt sense of our interconnectedness with each other and Earth and Universe. Grounded in this belief that separateness is the illusion, Mark invites his congregants to live out Thurman’s admonition to “do what makes you come alive,” keeping in mind that what we do affects everything around us. And so, he believes; we are called to act wisely and generously, with creativity and compassion and love.
