• Purpose: The purpose of the “Find a Home” Team is to determine the space needs of the Midcoast UU Fellowship and seek out facilities or sites that could potentially satisfy these needs.

  • Background: Multiple congregational surveys have disclosed a desire among members to find a new home that is more spiritually inspiring than our current home in Porter Hall in Skidompha Library. Additionally, during the Covid pandemic, the Fellowship came to the realization that our access to our current home was entirely at the discretion of the library administration, creating a certain amount of frustration. As a result, a team was formed in 2023 to intentionally search for alternative facility options in our region.

  • Scope:
    • Work with the Fellowship to ascertain our facility and space needs;
    • Meet with representatives of existing area churches and other facilities to determine suitability and potential for a shared arrangement;
    • Consider consulting with local real estate agencies for strengthening our search for facility options
    • Inform the Board of Trustees of search developments and make recommendations as appropriate.

  • Authority: Board-convened committee, with open-ended status.
